About Us

YOUR PARTNERS IN FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT

Established for over 15 years, Total Fire Group have developed an excellent reputation across the North West for our provision of efficient and professional FRAs, fire risk management of actions and consultancy for several blue-chip clients.

We understand how big a responsibility fire safety management is. And our aim has always been to help organisations fulfil their obligations as easily and as cost-effectively as possible.

Not content with merely providing fire risk assessments, we have grown and expanded our business to form fire safety partnerships with many organisations such as housing associations, educational bodies and major retail clients. This allows us to deliver ongoing fire safety management and support, tailored to them.

We work closely with our clients, almost becoming another facet of their business. Our clients continue to work with Total Fire Group because we deliver the reassurance and peace of mind that their fire safety is compliant, effective and under control.

Darren Baird

Group Director DMS, MIFireE, MIFSM, NAFRA

Darren established Total Fire Services in 2003, while serving as a fire safety officer with Greater Manchester County Fire Service. He has over 29 years experience in the fire industry.
In December 1998, whilst serving as a Leading Firefighter at Wythenshawe, he was awarded the Chief Fire Officer’s commendation for actions during a severe house fire involving the rescues of 4 children and their parents. He also attended the Manchester bomb in June 1996.

His career with the Fire Service spanned 17 years in numerous operational, fire safety, training and technical roles. His time as an Inspecting Officer and Borough Fire Safety Manager with the fire service enabled him to attend all the Fire Service College fire safety modules. Combined with his extensive operational experience this enabled him to enforce and assist building owners with their fire safety legal requirements in some of the most complex buildings in the County.
In September 2006, he resigned from the Fire Service to develop the Company on a full time basis. Since then with the help of a dedicated team and support from family, ex colleagues and friends TFG Ltd has become one of the leading fire safety consultancy businesses in the North West. In July 2019, we became Total Fire Group Ltd to incorporate our bespoke fire risk management software Company, Aurora Data Ltd into the Group.

Darren advises our corporate clients, and in particular the housing sector on all aspects of fire risk management, attending monthly meetings and developing our fire safety partnerships. He is also a Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessor (NAFRA) listed on the IFSM register, and audits a high percentage of our fire risk assessments before being authorised to clients.
